During the night of October 21 I had a very vivid realistic dream and then again during the night of October 23 I had another even more vivid dream. Neither of those dreams were pleasant, as a matter of fact I do not like having dreams like that at all and would avoid them if I could but I have no control over the matter. I feel that I must share them for whatever they are worth and what I think they mean.
Let me say now before I begin that I am not saying this is God speaking but there is such heavy sybolism in them that I cannot help but believe they are warning dreams to the body of Christ as well as to me personally.
Dream One: I am at home and during the night there comes a severe storm with heavy rain and strong winds. The roof of my house begins to leak getting worse and worse until it is a deluge and everything is being saturated and as I am looking for the source of the leaks which seem to be coming from everywhere I notice what looks like a black iron sewer pipe protruding from a wall in the family room. It has a plug in the end of it and at the very moment that I see it the plug falls out and a forceful stream of raw sewage bgins to spew into the house and soon every square inch of the house and it's contents are covered in idescribable filth. Just before I wake up I am standing there surveying the mess and thinking that it is a total loss and I will have to destroy everything but the framework of the house. End of dream.
Later the following day the full impact and possible meaning of this dream began to unfold. Here's what I believe to be the meaning. My home is a sanctuary, a place of safety, peace and love. It is a shelter from the storm. I take good care of it and keep it in good repair so that it can withstand the storms that inevitably come and still keep me safe, secure and warm. I am a Christian and Jesus Christ is my refuge not only in time of storm but under His wing (Psalm 91)is my place of safety and security from everything the devil and the world can throw at me. He is literally my covering and my assurance of Eternal life and as long as I give as much attention to maintaing that vital relationship as I do to maintaining my earthly home then I am eternally secure.
The sewer pipe coming into my home and opening into a room represents the things that I allow into my life that should not be allowed. A sewer pipe is designed to carry waste away from my home, not into it. The raw symbolism here is that if we as Christians deliberately allow unholy things into our lives and I think we all know what they are, we just pick and choose which ones to reject because they are too bad or not so bad. Our standard needs to become the Word of God rather than the standards that perhaps our church has established. Did you know that the New Testament even forbids what it calls "foolish or course jesting"? Sounds legalistic I know and I hate legalism but can you imagine Jesus and the Angels telling some of the jokes that circulate around the internet and I am talking about the ones that Christians including myself forward to their friends? If you think that Jesus and the Angels would then I suggest that you have been exposed to a different Jesus than the Bible teaches. Anyway the failure of the roof to keep out the storm is directly related to the sewer pipe that was bringing filth into my home. Whatever we allow into our personal lives has a direct affect on our relationship with the Savour and could lead to a total breakdown of that covering that we so desperatly need to maintain. I will leave the reader to determine the fact or fiction of this dream and if it has any relevance to your life in Christ. The next dream I feel is closely related and I think part of the same message in that it shows the possible result of what we permit or excuse in our lives.
